Most lakes and rivers in Strand have excellent fishing, with trout, salmon and Arctic char. Fishing in the sea is open to all, and here you can catch pollock, lythe, cod and mackerel. Salmon fishing in the Jørpeland river is only permitted from Fridays to Sundays from 15 July until 7 September. Fishing licenses are available at Andor Fjelde AS in Jørpeland town centre.
