On the left side of the plateau sits a big rock stuck between a cleft in the mountain, 1000 metres over the fjord. Most people are pleased by enjoying the view over the Lysefjord from the plateau, but for some hikers is the climax to walk out on the rock and be perpetuated on a photo. Lysebotn in the end of the Lysefjord is most well-known for the 27 curves that sling upward the rock wall. Besides a fantastic and wild nature, with big contrasts, the place is known for power production. In the latest year Lysebotnen has lost a school, a kindergarten, a shop etc. The rural district was leaved because of the automatization of the power station.
Lysebotnen is a place for you who want to stop up and maybe stay overnight before the trip goes further. The little place has among others a caravan park where you can spend the night.
